Speaking to LEADERSHIP shortly after he visited the affected areas, he said that the affected areas include Hausari ward, Tsohowan Nguru, Shuwarin, Nayi nawa and Zango Kanwa.
He said that more than 200 houses and many shops were affected by floods due to the heavy rain in the town.
According to him, ” Let me tell you that I had visited all the affected areas to assess the damage caused by the disaster.”
He added, “At the moment, we are compiling a comprehensive report on the disaster for owners submission to the state government and SEMA for necessary action to the victims,” said Mairami.
He assured that the state government would come to the aid of the victims as an interim measure as soon as the The State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA) has deployed its personnel to the community to assess the extent of damage for intervention.
He added, ” We visited the affected areas and distributed relief materials to the victims to alleviate their suffering.
