Ebiseeni, the Secretary General of Afenifere, the Pan Yoruba Socio-Cultural Organisation loyal to Chief Ayo Adebanjo came third in the primary that produced Hon Agboola Ajayi as the candidate of the PDP.

Also, a member of the Caretaker Committee of the PDP, Hon Dayo Awude emerged as the Deputy Governorship of the LP for the forthcoming election.

Speaking during his formal declaration of his ambition as the candidate of LP, Ebiseeni said the window of opportunity for substitution of the candidate by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has not closed contrary to the insinuation in many quarters.

According to him, the closure of the window of opportunity for the substitution of candidates according to section 33 of the Electoral Act, which is 90 days before the actual election, would end on August 16.

Ebiseeni said the presence of leaders of the party, including Comrade Abdulwaheed I Omar, Dr Kingsley Okundaye, Prof Theophilus Ndubuaku, and Folu Bademosi, who are members of the National Transition Committee (NTC), showed he is the authentic candidate of the party.

He said LP is not new to the state, saying it was a party in which his running mate and the majority of politicians across all political parties served the state in various capacities.

He said many of the projects being described as legacy projects were executed during the time the government of Olusegun Mimiko ruled the state.

Reeling out his programme for the people of the state if elected, Ebiseeni said he would ensure the establishment of state Police to complement the Nigeria Police Force.

His words, “We will get our people working again by putting in place measures that will encourage and enhance industrialization with the objectives of mass creation of jobs and employment.

“There shall be free child and maternal health care services. We shall build more Health Centres and hospitals to bring healthcare services closer to the people and train more personnel in all sectors with affordable access to drugs.
