Neusroom’s monitoring team observed that not only was there slow movement in Ogba, Ikeja, the capital of Lagos, but banks, fuel stations, supermarkets, and small businesses in the area were also closed.
In Lagos, Nigeria’s economic hub, the protest is kicking off amid scanty movement in various parts of the state. In Lekki, where protesters gathered during the October 10, 2020, EndSARS protest, scanty movement has been reported, with police armoured cars deployed. Additionally, police dispersed protesters at the Lekki toll gate with tear gas.
In Ikeja, the capital of Lagos, protesters gathered at Alausa were asked by the DPO of the police station to proceed to Gani Fawehinmi Park, as Alausa is not the designated location.
Outside Lagos, a resident in Sango-Otta told Neusroom that roads are scanty and businesses are closed.
“Here in Sango-Otta, people are still home. The protest is not happening in my area,” a resident told Neusroom.

In Abuja, Nigeria’s seat of power, pockets of demonstrations have been recorded at MKO Abiola Stadium and other areas.
“We are not here to harm anybody or cause any disorder in this country,” said protesters gathered at the MKO Abiola Stadium in Abuja.
In Rivers State, demonstrators gathered at the Port Harcourt Pleasure Park chose to sing the old national anthem, “Arise, O Compatriots.”
Neusroom can confirm that several businesses in Owerri, the capital of Imo State, are closed, with scanty movement. This could be attributed to the unrest the city has been witnessing since the beginning of the week.
