Full of emotion, Madam Ekong, recounted how their thatched house collapsed on 29th May, 2024 claiming the life of her husband and leaving some of her nine children injured.
She revealed that her husband was still in the mortuary, awaiting funeral.
Moved by her plight, Governor Eno swiftly sent his humanitarian team, led by his Special Assistant on Humanitarian Services, Prince Nsikanabasi Umoekpo, to console the grieving family and construct a brand new, fully-furnished two-bedroom bungalow for them.
The team while handing over the contract documents urged the resource person to complete the project within one month to enable the family prepare for funeral.
The Governor’s Aide described Governor Eno as an epitome of compassion and assured the bereaved widow that her new house will be built to specification and completed within one month so the family can prepare for funeral.
