The teachers under the umbrella of Abia Retired Teachers (ART) Forum accused Abia NUT of refusing to pay them their retirement benefits which the body deducted from the source during their service years after several verifications.
Coordinator Eunice Egbuna said they had no option but to speak to the media about the issue. She explained that when a good number of retired teachers noticed that fighting for their rights on an individual basis would end up as futile, they decided to come together to form the forum.
