He expressed concern that Wike’s perceived lack of humility could eventually lead to his downfall, reminding him that his rise from Obio-Akpor to his current position was by God’s grace. Obaseki emphasized that he had no time for Wike, noting his own academic achievements long before Wike’s university days.

On this Wike matter, when una dey talk everytime, I want to quote Chinua Achebe, he said those for whom nuts have been cracked for them by benevolent spirits should not forget to be humble. I just pray one day that Wike does not become the voluminous victim of his lack of humility.
