There are 3 Major Candidates;Senator Monday Okpebholo, Barrister Olumide Akpata and Barrister Asue Ighodalo.
Following the anti people policies of his Precursor-Godwin Obaseki, Asue Ighodalo did an opinion poll to feel the pulse of the people.The outcome was a decision by his handlers for him to be different from Obaseki, albeit as a facade .He was advised to be more generous , to be more friendly and just like achameleon, to acquire the colour of theuniform of his enemy .
Ontheir parts Senator Monday Okpebholo and Olumide Akpata Esq., are real and display who they are.
Olumide Akpata has a track record of showing his Edo Heritage, by contributing his quota to development of the Edo Society . Though a Member of the Lagos Branch of Nigerian Bar Association, he has hosted the Benin Branch of the NBA severally and he is even.part of Branch WhatssAp Groups .This is not the same for Asue Ighodalo.He has not associated with the NBA Benin, for the past 8 Years , though he is Lawyer .When he was Chairman of the NBA Section on Business Law, he did nothing to show he loves Edo .He never associated with Edos.He only hurriedlyhosted the NBA BeninBranch on the 7th of July,2024 , the same day he hosted the Benin Bar theDirector Generalof Asue Ighodalo Campaign Organisation-Mathew Ideurekimwen and his thugs viciously attacked popular lawyer-Douglas Ogbankwa Esq , aformer Publicity Secretary of NBA Benin Branch, an indication that Asue Ighodalo and his team are hypocrites, in fact they are political skit markers , who are deceiving Edo People with skits and soap operas , produced by professionals brought in from Lagos .The case of the attack is currently before the State CID , Benin City and Lawyers are angry at the audacious action of Asue’s Director General and they will show their wrath at the Elections.Asue Ighodalo has not made a statement condemning the action of his errant Director General as his Grammar has suddenly ran dry .
The Sterling Bank , where he was Chairman does not have a Branch in the whole of Esan Land where he comes from .Banwo & Ighodalo his Law Firm only has a Branch in Port Harcourt and none in Benin .But the Law Firm has been given lucrative jobsin Edo State , including running due diligence for Edo Line ., which is still dead till today .
Senator Monday Okpebholo track records of showing benevolence to his people is there for even the blind to see .His many intervention projects , attracting Federal Presence to Edo State , being real and notbeing suddenly kind , accessible and ubiquitous.
Edo 2024 will be decided by the perception of the candidates by Edo People.Edo People are not stupid , they are very enlightened to know that grammar , though a factor , will not be the ultimate determinant of who wins the election .
The Grammar of Asue Ighodalo does not cure forthe displacement of Community Members of Okoroma ,Obazagbon and part of Irhirhi Communities, whose ancestral lands , ancestral graves and Oguiodion (Community Shrines) , have been taken over by Obaseki Government , with Asue Ighodalo as the Chief Economic Adviser , to build a dubious coral city , that is tied to the pecuniary interests of those that promote it .This is despite the subsistence of a valid Court Order restraining the Edo State Government from doing so.Thousands of Edo People had their houses demolished, even when they were inside ,with no compensation paid .Many of them have Certificates of Occupancy issued by the same Edo State Government.What a travesty of Justice .
The Grammar of Asue Ighodalo does not explain the following Memorandum of Understanding, MOUsof phantom projects , with the MOUs executed with billions of naira , which projects only exist inthe figment of imagination of Obaseki and the Head of his Economic Team -Asue Ighodalo.
The projects include and are not limited to :
1.The Benin City Outer Ring Road .
2.Malaysian University of Innovations.
3.The Gelegele Port or the Benin Port .
4.Auchi Airport.
5.The Edo State Sub Marine Cable Project .
6.The Benin City Dry Port
7.The Cassava Farms
8.The Sogai Farms
9.The Edo Silicon Valley
Etc .
The Alaghodaro Summit which appears named after Asue Ighodalo , a deceitful way of putting the name Ighodaro in the minds of Edo is an empty talk shop of seven years draining the State of Billions of Naira , with nothing to show for it .
The First Alaghodaro Summit in 2007,was a reflection of the Agenda of Asue Ighodalo.Every thing concerning the summit including food , ushers and MCs came from Lagos .
This has been the trend for the last seven years .Under the Obaseki -,Asue Ighodalo Watch ,every Friday flights going to Lagos from Benin are fully booked , while flights coming to Benin from Lagos on Mondays are fully booked .This is a reflection of the marginalisation of Local Elements in Edo State , in Government Business .
Despite this, many of the SSAs and SAs whoknow the truth , are busy supporting a failed system that has taken Edo from Edo People.They are only interested in stipends that is credited them monthly.These Edo Youths have sold their future for a pot of porridge.
They are given pea nuts and this is going with thephilosophy of Vladimir Lenin, the Russian demisedDictator that if yougave the people food , they will support with all their lives , even when you are killing them.
*Edo no be Lagos*, this isthe slogan they used to deceive Edo People to capture the Edo Territory for Lagos Elements.Edo will be better than Lagos .
In my view , Senator Monday Okpebholo is the best bet to take Edo to a new beginning.This is because his interests are local and his desire for the State are well thought out for the development of State .
Nigerians over rate grammar.Grammar is a tool used by goons to deceive fools .Those who know Edo know the format of Asue Ighodalo and his co-travellers .It will not work . Enough of the use of Grammar to deceive Edo People.Edo People want real and proven leaders who are sincere to the development of the State.
God forbide another 8 years of MOUs with nothing to show for it .A New Edo is rising . Monday Okpebholo is the the answer.
