In a video shared by Arise TV, Nwanyanwu referred to a statement by Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory and former Governor of Rivers State, who asserted that one cannot win an election under one party and then switch to another while retaining their elected position.
Nwanyanwu highlighted that if a state House of Assembly member leaves the party they were elected with and joins another party, they forfeit their seat. He stressed that the mandate to serve belongs to the party that originally won the seat.
