The incident, which took place along Old Awai Road in the state capital, sparked panic as residents and passersby fled in fear.
Eyewitnesses reported that the vehicle, bearing a government plate number, was intercepted by the assailants, who targeted two male occupants.
The gunmen, who were also in a vehicle, stole two large “Ghana-must-go” bags believed to contain a significant amount of money before speeding off to an unknown location.
The victims, critically injured from the attack, were rushed to an undisclosed hospital by concerned citizens. While details of their condition remain unclear, sources indicate they are receiving urgent medical care.
