During a press conference in Benin City on Sunday, Edo State Commissioner for Communication and Orientation, Chris Nehikhare, claimed that Oshiomhole is conspiring with the Commander of Mopol 60 and his officers to manipulate the election in favor of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Nehikhare stated that Oshiomhole and his allies plan to take election materials into the senator’s home and tamper with the ballots, ensuring a favorable outcome for the APC. He recalled a similar situation during the 2020 elections when reports of over 1,000 votes were recorded despite only 210 accredited voters, according to the BVAS report.

The commissioner also accused the APC of producing police uniforms and masks to disguise thugs who would disrupt the voting process in areas where the party expects to lose. He specifically mentioned APC plans to target polling units in Okpella, Fugar, Ibillo, and other key locations.

In addition, Nehikhare alleged that militants had been ferried into the state to disrupt voting in the riverine areas and called on security agencies to act swiftly in addressing these concerns.
