The IGP reportedly made the pronouncement at the ongoing stakeholders meeting on the Edo Governorship Election taking place in Benin City, the Edo State capital.
The meeting organised by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) is part of the schedule of activities leading to the upcoming September 21, 2024 election.
Ahead of the polls, there have been calls from various quarters for the disbandment of the ESSN over fears that they would serve as useful tools in the hands of the governor against the opposition.
