While speaking at the gathering, President Asiwaju Ahmed Bola Tinubu disclosed that the reform process in Nigeria is currently facing some difficulties. He went on to say that he is powerless to stop the present fuel price increase because it is a part of the difficult phase of reform he is describing.

“The country is going through a tough phase of reform and this reform is taking a very bold and hard decision. For example, you might be hearing about the hike in fuel prices but we can not help it, you see electricity being constant, you see water supply being constant and running. What is the critical part to get us there If we can not take hard and painful decisions to pave the way?”, President Asiwaju Ahmed Bola Tinubu said.
The video of Tinubu’s speech was shared on Chief Dele Momodu’s official Instagram page today, Saturday, September 7, 2024. In the caption, Momodu said that the speech is very touching.
He continued by telling the president that Nigerians aren’t requesting handouts but rather that their leaders should cut back on their extravagant spending.
