During an appearance on Arise TV, Okonkwo expressed his dissatisfaction with the leadership of the current political figures, stating that both the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) and the opposition parties have failed Nigerians.
“I believe it is time for Tinubu, Atiku, and Obi to step aside,” Okonkwo remarked. “The ruling party has not delivered, and the opposition has missed the chance to unite against them. It’s time for new faces to lead.”
Okonkwo also criticized the opposition for their inability to form alliances in the National Assembly, pointing out that a consolidated opposition could have gained control of key leadership positions.
“If all opposition members in the House of Representatives had come together, they could have produced the speaker and deputy speaker. But instead, they failed to work together,” he said.
