The group in a statement lauded the governor for standing as a beacon of hope and integrity in the face of attempts to undermine the sanctity of democracy in the state.
NDYC National Coordinator, Israel Uwejeyan, said Fubara’s leadership has indeed been a testament to the principles of justice, transparency and accountability – principles that are essential for the growth and development of any society.
It said: “Governor Siminalayi Fubara’s recent courageous stance against despotic tendencies in the state; attempts to subjugate the people of Rivers State and treat our state as personal fiefdom must be strongly resisted by all wellmeaning individuals.
“The tyrannical conduct and audacious declaration of ownership over the political landscape of Rivers State reveal a gross disregard for the democratic process and the collective will of the people.
“Such brazen arrogance and attempts to pocket the state’s resources for personal gain should not and will not be tolerated.”
