A well-placed source with close ties to the Nigerian government disclosed to the documentary’s producers that negotiations between Nigerian and British authorities are nearly finalized, paving the way for Ekweremadu’s transfer. “The reason you’re not getting responses is because Ekweremadu may soon be coming back home,”
the source said. “There have been extended conversations between both authorities for him to come back to Nigeria to serve out the remainder of his term in a Nigerian prison, which will be more convenient for him. It’s almost finalized. Any moment from now, he will very likely be back home in Nigeria.”
Despite the gravity of these claims, there has been no public confirmation or denial from officials involved in the case. Moreover, the documentary producers encountered significant hurdles while investigating the situation. According to Jideonwo’s team, “We found it extremely curious that none of the key players in this case, including Ekweremadu’s legal representatives, were willing to speak with us.”
