Nwosu stated, “Igbos will NOT protest against President Tinubu. Ndigbo are nationalists, and if Tinubu’s administration is known to have extended the hand of fellowship to the

Drawing comparisons to past elections, Nwosu highlighted that the Igbos have a history of pragmatic voting. He recalled how the Southeast supported former presidents Olusegun Obasanjo and MKO Abiola, both of whom were not of Igbo origin, but were backed by the region due to their policies and outreach. According to him, this willingness to support leaders who recognize the region’s significance could be extended to Tinubu if his government demonstrates a commitment to the Southeast.

Nwosu’s remarks come at a time when national unity and regional inclusivity are hot topics in Nigeria’s political discourse. His statement is seen as a call for the Tinubu administration to actively engage with the Southeast, ensuring that the region is not marginalized in national affairs. By doing so, he believes that the Igbos, known for their pragmatic approach to politics, could lend their support to Tinubu in the 2027 elections
