The former captain of Man City made the decision to transfer to Barcelona last summer but it looks that the 33-year-old must go after just a year because of ongoing problems with the team’s finances.

Fabrizio Romano, a transfer specialist and journalist for CaughtOffside, saw the former Real Madrid player’s response on X (formerly Twitter).

With three embarrassing monkey emoticons covering their eyes, Kroos only remarked, “Wow.”

His response probably captures the sentiments of many Barcelona supporters who may have liked to have a player with Gundogan’s background on the team.
