According to the organisation of FOOSTODEY, the donation was in recognition of the good works of Mrs Oborevwori’s Foundation as it clocks one year.
Speaking during the presentation of the vehicle in Asaba, National Coordinator of FOOSTODEY, Elvis Ahior said: ”Today is a memorable day and as members of FOOSTODEY, led by our International Coordinator, Reuben Izeze, we have come here to recognise the good works Her Excellency has been doing thus far through her foundation, “You Matter Charity Foundation” and also to celebrate the Foundation’s one year anniversary.
“Riding on the vision to create a society where everyone feels valued no matter their background, the Foundation adopted the motto, ‘everybody is somebody’,
“As an organisation and as individuals we can all relate to this motto; we can all relate to the need to feel some level of self worth or to even have that helping hand or support system that helps you realise you can be M.O.R.E or do M.O.R.E.
“The works of Her Excellency’s foundation have continued to impact communities and lives across Delta State. This has led to the recognition of the foundation, not just locally but globally as well.
“We have come today to join other well-meaning individuals to support your good works with the donation of a van.
“We believe that this van will not only aid the mobility of the foundation but also provide logistics support for its activities.”
Responding, Mrs Oborevwori expressed appreciation to the people of the state who have bought into and supported the project.
She thanked the NGO for the donation, adding that You Matter Charity Foundation has, for the past one year, carried out humanitarian and people-centered activities to give vulnerable people of the states a sense of hope and actualisation.
She pledged to continue using her privileged position to advance the cause of the underprivileged in the society.
Earlier, leader of the delegation Izeze, in his address, said the group was pleased to identify with the works of the Foundation in impacting the grassroots across various communities in the state.
He added that the vehicle will not only aid mobility but also provide logistic support for the Foundation’s activities.
