The donation was conveyed through a 21-man delegation led by Tukur Danfulani, the Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state.
Danfulani, who delivered Matawalle’s message of condolence, emphasized that the flood should be seen as a test of faith, encouraging the victims to remain hopeful for better days ahead.
During the visit, Danfulani handed over the N20 million to the Emir of Gummi, Justice Lawal Gummi (retd.), for distribution among those affected by the disaster.
He urged other affluent individuals in the state to contribute relief materials and support to help alleviate the suffering of the flood victims.
The Emir of Gummi expressed deep gratitude for the swift response and financial assistance provided by the minister.
He noted that the donation would help mitigate the disaster’s impact and aid in the resettlement of the displaced individuals.
The Emir assured that the funds would be properly distributed to ensure they reach all affected persons.
Among the delegation members were Sani Takori, Alhaji Hassan Damri, Ibrahim Dangaladima, Mallam Yusuf Gusau, and Alhaji Bashir Ataka.
In addition, the Deputy Governor of Zamfara State, Malam Mani Mummuni, visited the flood-affected towns of Gummi, Gayari, and Falale.
Accompanied by the Sole Administrator of Gummi Local Government, Aminu Nuhu, Mummuni expressed shock at the extent of the damage and offered his sympathy to the displaced residents.
Mummuni conveyed that he was sent by Governor Dauda Lawal to assess the damage and provide a report.
He promised that Governor Lawal would visit the affected areas soon to offer further support.
The Emir of Gummi also appealed for urgent assistance from all levels of government and suggested the construction of an earth dam to help prevent future flooding
