Ibezi, a former member of the 9th National Assembly representing Idemili North/South Federal Constituency, highlighted the importance of the South East’s decision in light of their past experiences.
“You can see that the South East has come of age politically. Their decision not to participate in the protest showed maturity and understanding. Given their recent experience, it was in the region’s enlightened self-interest not to participate in the protest,” Ibezi remarked.
He also commended the leaders at various levels for effectively managing the situation and urged the Federal Government to recognize the South East’s patriotism. “I hope those who make Ndigbo scapegoats at every opportunity are taking note.
