Eze Chukwuemeka Eze, former National Publicity Secretary of the defunct New People’s Democratic Party (nPDP) and a prominent figure in the All Progressives Congress (APC), has urged the newly reinstated Rivers APC executive committee, led by Emeka Beke, to ensure that Governor Siminalayi Fubara officially joins the ruling party…READ FULL ARTICLE

Eze also called on the Beke-led executive to formalize the membership of 27 lawmakers, including the reportedly misled Martins Amaewhule, in line with President Bola Tinubu’s directive to welcome all into the APC.

This plea follows a State High Court decision in Port Harcourt affirming Emeka Beke and his team as the legitimate state chairman and executive committee of the APC in Rivers State.

In November 2023, the APC National Working Committee (NWC) had, through National Publicity Secretary Felix Morka, dissolved the State Executive Council and appointed a 7-man caretaker committee led by Tony Okocha. Justice Sika ruled that the appointment of Okocha and his team was unjustified and violated APC’s constitution. The court found no valid grounds for dissolving the democratically elected committee led by Beke, whose term was still valid.

Justice Aprioku subsequently issued a perpetual injunction against the Okocha-led caretaker committee, reinstating Beke’s executive as the authentic party leadership in Rivers State.

With order restored in Rivers APC, Eze encouraged the party leadership to engage Governor Siminalayi Fubara, urging him to join the APC to further the state’s progress.

Eze described the court’s decision as a significant blow to FCT Minister Nyesom Wike and his associates within the APC NWC, alleging their attempts to influence judicial outcomes had failed. He dismissed Okocha’s threat to appeal the judgment as a futile effort by someone desperate to cling to a discredited position and cease dubious activities….READ FULL ARTICLE
