Abdulrahman announced his defection on Tuesday during a visit to Deputy Senate President, Senator Barau Jibrin in Abuja.
In addition to his party switch, he also resigned from his position as Senior Special Assistant to Kano State Governor Abba Yusuf.
In a post on Senator Barau’s Facebook page, Abdulrahman revealed that he had also changed his name from Mai Kadama Kwankwasiyya to Mai Kadama Maliya, symbolizing his departure from the Kwankwasiyya movement.
The renowned grassroot politician also disclosed his resignation from multiple leadership roles within the Kwankwasiyya group, including his position as the leader of the movement in Plateau State, head of the G-6 in Kano State, and National Chairman of Kwankwasiyya Akasa A Tsare.
Abdulrahman stated that his decision was driven by a desire to promote good governance and accelerate development in Kano State and the nation at large.
Mai Kadama Maliya urged his fellow young politicians to join the APC, expressing confidence that the party is genuinely committed to improving the standard of living for Nigerians.
