This situation echoes a similar occurrence in 2022, when a group of supporters from Northern Nigeria bought nomination forms for Jonathan to run in the ruling All Progressives Congress
(APC) primary for the 2023 election.
However, Jonathan chose not to enter the race in 2023.
He was Nigeria’s president from 2010 to 2015, representing the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), which is now in opposition.
