If You Don’t Know Your LG Chairman, You Don’t Have Right To Protest – Presidency

The Presidency has said Nigerians who do not know their local government chairmen do not have the right to protest against President Bola Tinubu over economic hardship.

Essiet said it would be wrong for Nigerians, who do not know their leaders at the grassroots, to protest against the economic policies of President Tinubu.

In a question format statement, Abiodun Essiet said Nigerians who do not know their ward councilors and what federal allocations to their local governments are, do not qualify to protest against the President’s economic policies.

“If you can’t answer all these questions correctly you don’t have the right to protest or share posts about the protest. Who is your councilor? Who is your local government chairperson or caretaker committee chair? What was the last federal government allocation to your Local government /state?

“Who is your Governor? Who is the speaker of your state Assembly? Can you mention five productive interventions of your Governor / our President?”She asked.

Essiet, still in question, advised Nigerians planning to join August protest against the federal government to also consider if the children of people leading the protest will join.

She advised Nigerians to use other means of engagement before proceeding with the planned August protest

She asked further,“Do you know if the children of the people leading your protest are also joining the protest? What other means have you used to engage the government before protesting?”

Essiet added, “No one is stopping anyone from protesting peacefully, but don’t destroy government or private properties.
