Next up, according to Catalan publication, Nacional, Man Utd are offering £33.7m to Barcelona for Fermin Lopez. The La Masia graduate has shot to limelight under Xavi Hernandez in the last 12 months.

Now, as per Nacional, the Nou Camp outfit have decided to keep the player, they don’t consider selling him and will demand his €400m release clause from the Premier League giants if they want to secure his signature. Frankly, this is outlandish.

The Euro 2024 winner, who made just a single appearance in the competition, is talented and brings with him a very unique goalscoring threat from midfield but in all fairness, no club is paying his release clause. This is Barcelona’s way of saying that Fermin Lopez is not for sale.

If there is something that the Spanish club are known for, it is their ability to retain homegrown talent like no other club in the world. Despite their financial predicament in the last few seasons, the club have refrained from selling academy stars to make pure profits.
