as they weigh up whether or not to submit a formal bid to Bayern.
On the proviso he does sign, the Dutchman might have a 50-50 choice to make regarding his shirt number. The 24-year-old wears No.4 for Bayern and did so during his spells at previous clubs Ajax and Juventus.
It remains vacant at Old Trafford, too, amid suggestions Yoro is set to be assigned the No.15 shirt . However, No.4 is not the only realistic option for De Ligt, who wears No.3 (also vacant) for the Netherlands senior team.
No.9, No.13, No.19, No.26, No.27, No.30, No.31 and No.32 are currently available, too.
Bayern are thought to want £42million for De Ligt this summer.
