There is talk of a transfer fee of 62 million euros, which Man United and Lille have agreed to. The current Bayern defender Matthijs de Ligt was more expensive at 85.5 million euros when he moved from Ajax Amsterdam to Juventus as a 19-year-old – no other defender up to that age was more expensive. It was not clear for a long time whether Yoro actually wanted to move to England, as Real Madrid was also heavily courting him. Lille’s preferred solution was to sell to Man United, rather than having to let the top talent leave for free next year.
