A non-governmental organisation, Justice for Peace, stated this in Sokoto on Sunday. Basharu Altine Isa, the chairman of the group in the state, warned about looming hunger if the government fails to stop the attacks.
According to him, farmers who cultivate millet, sorghum, watermelon, cowpeas, cabbage, onion, and garlicin commercial quantities may be seriously affected.
He said: “The activities of terrorists have ren – dered 70 per cent of the farms inoperative and 70 per cent of this revenue is likely to be lost, which is N385.75 billion.”
According to the group, Sabon Birni, Isa, Goronyo, Rabah, Gada, Wurno, Illela, and Gwadabawa Local Government Areas in Sokoto East are seriously affected.
