The younger Mimiko is the gubernatorial candidate of the Zenith Labour Party (ZLP) for this year’s gubernatorial election in Ondo , while his elder brother Olusegun Mimiko is former commissioner, Secretary to the Ondo State Government, ex- Minister as well as two-term Governor of the state.

The ZLP flag bearer, despite his brother’s rich political pedigree and colut in the politics of Ondo state, insists “I don’t want him to give me any endorsement. What I need is the endorsement of the people of Ondo State.”

The gubernatorial candidate disclosed his stance in a recent chat with journalists according to a report monitored on DailyTrust.com.

The psychiatric doctor whose agenda for Ondo is topped by revamping the economy, agriculture, education, and security.of the state “I’m not starting as a novice. I have seen the good, the bad, and the ugly of governance, and I’m ready to lead Ondo State forward.”

Outside of Abbas Mimiko’s assertions, checks revealed that attempts by former Governor Mimiko, 69, to return to win election after he left office in 2017 did not yield desired result.

He was the Zenith Labour Party Senatorial candidate for the 2019 election and did not win.
