Ibrahim made this appeal during a meeting with heads of branches and units at the NYSC secretariat on Tuesday.
Emphasizing the importance of professionalism, Mr. Ibrahim urged the officials to prioritize punctuality and demonstrate a strong commitment to their responsibilities.
“My priority always lies in my ability to deliver accordingly when assigned duties,” he stated, highlighting his past experience working with many of the staff present.
Addressing the issue of gossip, he expressed his zero tolerance for rumormongering, stating, “If you come and tell me about someone else, I will tell you to wait and invite the other person and ask you to repeat what you said about him.”
While discouraging gossip, the coordinator welcomed constructive criticism and advice that would contribute positively to the NYSC’s operations.
“No one is Mr. Know-it-all. We reassess and readjust to ensure no stone is left unturned in our quest for excellence,” he remarked, stressing the importance of continuous learning and adaptability among staff members.
Ibrahim further reminded the team that their collective effort and synergy would significantly impact the development of the NYSC scheme. He encouraged staff to be flexible and willing to take on any assigned duties, regardless of their usual areas of responsibility.
“Be open-minded and support me to achieve the required success,” he urged.
Following the meeting, Mr. Ibrahim and the staff conducted an inspection of the camp facilities to assess their readiness for the upcoming activities, reinforcing his hands-on approach to leadership.
Through this meeting, Sa’idu Ibrahim aims to foster a culture of teamwork, professionalism, and open communication within the Katsina NYSC office, laying the groundwork for a successful tenure as coordinator.
