The appointment of the renowned scholar, Professor Usman was made known on Monday, in a statement signed by Ajuri Ngelale, the President’s Spokesperson.
The newly appointed NAHCON Executive Chairman have qualifications from two Islamic centres of excellence – the University of Madinah and Peshawar University, Pakistan.
Professor Usman, who recently served as the Chairman of the Kano State Pilgrims Board, is well-grounded in Hajj operations, having superintended the operations of the largest quota of state pilgrims in the country.
The appointment is subject to confirmation by the Senate.
