6 Robbers Who Snatched AK-47 From Security Officer During Robbery Operation Land In Police Net


Six young men who were said to be serial robbers and who snatched an AK-47 rifle from a security officer on duty during a robbery operation in a company has been arrested by men of the Kano State Police Command, it was gathered on Wednesday, June 5, 2024.

The Public Relations Officer of the state police command, Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa, who announced the arrest on his Facebook wall, said the young men were arrested shortly after the robbery incident.

He gave their names as Usman Abdullahi, aged 26 years; Mustapha Umar, aged 25 years; Nazifi Abdullahi, aged 30 years; Isa Abbas, aged 21 years; Junaidu Hamisu, aged 33 years and Abdulrazak Aliyu, aged 22 years.

According to the Police PRO, a report was lodged at the police station about an armed robbery at a plastic company where the robbers reportedly snatched one AK-47 rifle from a security personnel on duty.

Following the report, operatives of the command began manhunt for the suspects and their efforts yielded positive results, leading to the arrest of the six members of the armed robbery syndicate at their hideout while preparing to escape from the state.

The Police PRO wrote: “During the course of the investigation, the suspects confessed to the crime and the following exhibits were recovered in their hideout located behind Port Container Base, Kano; one smoke pistol loaded with one canister, one pump-action rifle loaded with 17 cartridges.

“Others were one mini pick-up vehicle, six cutlasses, three sharp knives and other house breaking implements. The suspects further confessed to series of armed robbery incidents within the metropolis.”
