The draw ceremony for the championship was held on Sunday, setting the stage for what promises to be an exciting event.

Amokachi expressed his admiration for the scale of the championship, which sees participation from over 800,000 learners across Africa.

He also emphasized the importance of the prize money involved, noting its potential to boost the development of school sports across the continent.

“One has to commend the scale of this event. You are talking about over 800,000 learners participating across Africa.

Also, looking at the prize money involved, it will help in the development of school sports and development in Africa,” Amokachi said, as quoted by CAFonline.

In Amokachi’s view, competitions like the CAF African Schools Football Championship are crucial for the growth of football in Africa.

He pointed out that the recent Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) showcased the rising prominence of African football in various aspects.

“Such competitions contribute significantly to the growth of football in Africa. As many witnessed at the recent AFCON, African football is on an exciting rise across all sectors, and having a strong foundation such as this tournament can only benefit African football,” Amokachi added.

The tournament is scheduled to take place at the Amaan Stadium from May 21 to May 24, promising several days of thrilling football action.
