2023 Presidency: What I Would Have Done if Atiku Defeated Tinubu, Wike Opens Up

During a live interview on Tuesday, April 2, Wike revealed that he had planned to flee Nigeria if Atiku Abubakar had won the presidential poll.

The FCT minister categorically stated that he had already prepared his passport prior to the Supreme Court judgement, adding that he was informed of plots against him for opposing Atiku’s presidential bid, Arise TV reports.

His words:

“When we went to Supreme Court, I put my international passport in my bag.

“And I told my wife, look, if we lose this today, I will go from there. So, you take care of this, you take care of that. All these people, I know the whole plot against me.”

A former national legal adviser of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Mark Jacob, has cited one major “reason” Nyesom Wike supported President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the 2023 presidential election.

Speaking on Wednesday, February 15, when he appeared as a guest on Arise TV’s The Morning Show, Jacob said Wike and other individuals he did not name “ deliberately worked against the party (PDP)” in the election for “selfish interests”.

The presidential candidate of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar, says Rivers State Governor Nyesom Wike, deceived Governors Okezie Ikpeazu (Abia), Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi (Enugu) and Samuel Ortom (Benue) into committing political suiicide.


Atiku’s Special Assistant on Public Communication, Mr. Phrank Shaibu, said betrayal, hypocrisy and deception were part of Wike’s DNA and that was why he had lost relevance outside Rivers State and had become nothing but a bull in a China shop….READ FULL ARTICLE
