The Yoruba nation activist, Sunday Adeyemo, more commonly known as Sunday Igboho, has asked the Nigeria Police Force to immediately release an elderly man identified as Mr. Popoola Iyiola from the local prison.

This was contained in a press statement issued by Igboho’s spokesperson, Olayomi Koiki addressed to the Commissioner of Police from Ilora, Oyo State.

The statement said, “This decision comes amidst escalating concerns and warnings directed towards Fulani residents in the Fiditi area in Ilora Oyo State, urging them to vacate the location promptly.

“Expressing urgency, Ighoho called on the Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, to intervene, while also encouraging the Nigerian security and civil defence to maintain order.

“These developments follow impassioned statements from activist Igboho, who vowed to protect Yoruba citizens from harm and injustice. With a clear message to Fulani residents to leave Ilora, tensions are palpable as the situation unfolds.”

Igboho who said this while addressing crowd in a video seen by SaharaReporters on X claimed that the people of South-West should unite to create a region security workforce that protect them from incessant Fulani herders attack on their farmlands.

He said, “This is our domain. We should save ourselves from Fulani. We should put security in all Yoruba land, We did not need to wait for anybody including the government.

If we really mean business, we should not wiat for government or else Fulani will carry all our lands, We should be united. Which farms do we have again in Yoruba land? Can we go to farm now?
