The 25-year-old is likely to leave the Serie A title holders in the coming months, despite signing a new contract that runs until December 2026. However, as well as being linked with a move to the, Osimhen has also emerged as a target for Paris Saint-Germain, who are set to lose Kylian Mbappe this summer.

The Blues are prioritising a move for a new striker in the summer and understands that Osimhen is at the top of the club’s list of potential options. However, according to agent Roberto De Fanti, a move to Old Trafford could be on the cards.

De Fanti, speaking to Tuttomercatoweb, said: “I could say everyone, but the truth is that United above all are looking for a centre forward. Hojlund is doing reasonably well, but the classic number No.9 – the [Erling] Haaland of the situation – could be Osimhen.”

Speaking earlier this month, former Blues defender William Gallas warned his old club that signing Osimhen in the summer transfer window will not solve all of their problems. He told Lord Ping : “to Chelsea? One player won’t make the difference and change things around for Chelsea.

“Even if they buy one striker, you have to be sure the players around him have the quality to supply that striker. The squad is very young. So next year we may see an improvement in the team and they might compete for the Premier League.

“We have to see how many goalswill score, he has eight [in the Premier League] at the moment. If Jackson cannot reach 15 Premier League goals or more, then Chelsea need a top striker, because at the moment they don’t have it.”

Back in January, Osimhen said he has already made a decision on his future but will only confirm his plans once the current season has concluded. “The rumour is going around about me linked with the Premier League,” he told CBS Sports.

“When you’re one of the hottest strikers on the globe, you expect this type of thing, and of course, theis one of the biggest and best leagues in the whole world. I’m with Napoli, I signed a new contract.
