Deputy Eric Calhoun and his K-9 partner, Kuno, played a pivotal role in locating the distressed child, who had disappeared from his home.

The Van Buren County Sheriff’s Office received a frantic 911 call at around 4 pm on Monday, reporting the sudden disappearance of a three-year-old boy.

Swiftly responding to the call, Calhoun and Kuno arrived at the scene 30 minutes after the child was last seen. Armed with determination and Kuno’s tracking skills, the duo initiated their search.

Following a footprint near the child’s home, Kuno successfully picked up the toddler’s scent trail. The dedicated police dog led Deputy Calhoun to a body of water near the boy’s house.

Bodycam footage revealed the tense moments as the officers rushed towards the water, with a second deputy joining them. The heartwarming scene captured on the camera showed the second deputy calling out ‘hey buddy!’ before scooping up the crying child.
