Reno Omokri, who described Tinubu’s decision to ignore the coup plotters and treat them accordingly as a sign of being a weak President, insisted that Nigerian democracy is hard-earned and should not be allowed to be truncated by the coup plotters who were being encouraged by the recent military coup in the Niger Republic.
Omokri recalled that being nice at this critical time does not assure the future of Nigerian democracy if the coup plotters are allowed to abuse Freedom of Speech.
He compared an incident that recently happened in the United States where a U.S. citizen threatened the life of President Joe Biden the country and the following day, he was gunned down by the Federal Bureau of Investigation, FBI.
Omokri’s reaction to the event unveiled in Nigeria in response to the military coup in Niger Republic reads “Someone threatened to kill President Biden, and the FBI shot him dead the next day, and there are people openly and flagrantly calling for a military coup in Nigeria and 24 hours later, they are still sleeping in their bed? Ha! Tinubu, this is not how to be a President! In leadership, weakness is wickedness. Nobody should get away with that kind of abuse of freedom of speech. Nobody! Niceness is not a virtue in a leader. It is a vice. If you are an emir and you call for a coup, deposition, and exile straight. If you are a regular citizen and call for a coup, automatic treason trial. You will eat one-week-old bread and water in DSS underground cell until your trial.
