APC’s Deputy National Chairman, North, Sen. Abubakar Kyari, said Adamu and Omisore resigned voluntarily as national chairman and secretary.
Kyari spoke in Abuja after a close door meeting with the National Working Committee, NWC, of the All Progressives Congress on Monday.
The APC deputy national chairman, north, who has since replaced Adamu in line with the party ‘s constitution, also announced the indefinite suspension of APC National Caucus and National Executive Committee, NEC, meetings.
“There are no allegations at this point? The two individuals have resigned voluntarily and that is what is available at this moment.
“The NWC wishes to inform you the resignation of the National Chairman, Senator Abdullahi Adamu CON and that of the National Secretary, Senator Iyiola Omisore, CON and with this development and according to the constitution of the All Progressives Congress, (APC).
“It is now incumbent on my humble self Senator Abubakar Kyari as the Deputy National Chairman North to assume the office of the acting national chairman of the All Progressives Congress, APC and subsequently also the Deputy National Secretary Barrister Festus Fuanter will now assume the office of the acting national secretary of the all Progressives Congress,(APC)
“And with this recent developments in the change of leadership, I’m glad to inform everybody here that the proposed national caucus meeting slated for Tuesday the 18th, July 2023.
“The National Executive Committee meeting of the All Progressives Congress slated for Wednesday 19th July 2023, as hereby been postponed, and this postponement will not be indefinite, but it will be a new date will be communicated in the near future,” he said.
