To say that oil tycoon and Oando Plc boss, Jubril Adewale Tinubu and his siblings were so blessed with a loving mother is like stating the obvious. To them, their mum, Iyalode Tinubu is a one-in-a-million whose love and care has guided them to who they are today.
To appreciate her, Wale alongside Shola, Iyabo, Kunle, Jide and Olu pulled out all the stops to celebrate their selfless, loving, business mogul matriarch as she joined the Octogenarian club. For the successful children of the new Octogenarian, the attainment of the ripe age of 80 is worth celebrating, particularly in a country where death is so cheap.
Trust the Tinubus as a detribalised family, their circle of friends in attendance cuts across the various Nigerian tribes that they have cultivated over the years.
It was indeed a night for the high-net worth, high profile and highflying eminent personalities. From the catering to the ushering, no stone was left unturned as the Tinubus showcased their hospitality side.
It was upscale and finest in all ramifications with assorted local and continental dishes on the menu to satiate the palate of hundreds of VVIP guests including captains of industry, monarchs, top politicians and socialites. Loud “pops” erupt over the elegant grand ballroom of the hotel as waiters let the cork of many opened bottles of assorted champagne literally fly clear across the hall.
There was no dull moment as The Vintage Band was there to serenade the guests. But the birthday soiree peaked when the legendary King Sunny Ade mounted the massive stage to electrify the atmosphere with his world class beat and the thrilled guests danced along till the wee hours.
