They believe that the party is sore losers and intolerant players.

The AYCF pointed out that since the beginning of the presidential election, Peter Obi, the candidate of the Labour Party, and his supporters have consistently refused to accept the fact that losing is always a possibility.

“ If Peter Obi and his Labour Party are not willing to acknowledge the possibility of being defeated, then they have no business running for office in the first place,” said Yarima Shettima, President of AYCF, in a statement.

AYCF stated that LP and Obi are displeased that the INEC chairman, Mahmood Yakubu, has fulfilled his commitment to a credible and verifiable election process supported by technology, which ensured transparent accreditation and upload of polling unit results for citizens to observe on election day.

“The fact that LP and their supporters deluded themselves into thinking that victory for Obi was guaranteed even before the election, explains why they are still unhappy that the deployment of a Bimodal Voter Accreditation System (BVAS) and INEC Result Viewing Portal (IReV) were made essential by the INEC chairman.

“Many stakeholders, except for Obi and LP, considered this a significant development in Nigeria’s electoral process, as Yakubu went to great lengths to implement technology in order to restore integrity to the ballot box in Nigeria.

“It is not surprising that no matter how credible the February 2023 elections turned out to be, sore losers like Obi would choose to discredit the outcome and jeopardize democracy,” stated Shettima.
