Jurrien Timber spotted after Arsenal medical as Declan Rice double announcement ‘imminent’

The Netherlands international is in his final two years of his contract at Ajax, with a lack of Champions League football next season after a disappointing third-placed finish in the previous campaign. The 22-year-old had been linked with a switch to Manchester United, but it seems as though a move to the Emirates Stadium is likely.

“Will I stay with Ajax anyway? I’m not sure, I can’t say that,” the young defender told the media a few weeks ago. “I’m not in talks with Ajax now. My agent had a good talk a few times, but it’s not like we’re talking about anything right now.”

That appears to have changed since as reports state that a full agreement has been reached with Ajax in a move worth roughly £40million. Timber was claimed to have undergone his medical at London Colney over the past few days ahead of the proposed transfer.

With that now seemingly complete, a trip back to the Netherlands to watch Ajax was on the cards as his current side drew 2-2 in a friendly with Den Bosch. The Dutch international looks set to be the second or third signing of the summer as Kai Havertz has already been confirmed.[READ FULL ARTICLE]
